Felipe Gomez Aparicio is an Argentine director currently based in Madrid, Spain.
In Buenos Aires, he studied Film at the “Cinematographic Research Center” where he graduated with the title of Film Director.
During the following years he began to work as an assistant director in independent feature films.
In 2005 he began to work in advertising. First as assistant director in all the top Argentine’s production companies until 2007.
Beginning in 2007, he became director of advertising and began to be represented by the Argentine production company Primo Buenos Aires and signed his work under the name of “Felipe”.
From this moment on, Felipe began to obtain numerous international awards in the world of advertising, always with a narrative imprint and very oriented towards the direction of actors. This generates an international interest and begins filming for Europe, USA and all of Latin America.
Awards in advertising cinema:
2008: Won his first major international prize at the Cannes Film Festival. A Bronze Lion with an Argentine piece for the brand PEPSICO “Paso de los Toros” and the agency BBDO.
2009: Lion in Cannes, silver lion with a campaign for an Argentine beer, IMBEV (Quilmes) “Cerveza Norte/ Duets” with the agency Del Campo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi. This campaign became the 5th most awarded in the world during 2010. And with this he was positioned in the ranking of the most awarded advertising directors in the “Gunn Report”, ranking 13th internationally.
2009 to 2011: He ranked top 10 of the best directors in Latin America at the “Ojo de Iberoamérica Festival”.
2011: Won a new Bronze Lion at the Cannes festival for his campaign for IMBEV (Quilmes) “Cerveza Norte the best excuse in the world”.
2012/2013/2014: Won international and national awards such as Clio Awards USA, FIAP Miami, El Sol in San Sebastian. WAVE Brazil, DIENT Argentina, Lapiz de Oro among others.
2015: Cannes Lions Festival, two Bronzes Lions for two different campaigns, IKEA “Cookies” with the agency McCann Madrid and another with CENCOSUD EASY “San Martin” with the agency Don Buenos Aires. Being that year the only Argentine director with two Lions in film at Cannes. Also during 2015 he won a “Martin Fierro” on TV (the Martin Fierro is the highest prize that can be received on Argentine television) for a campaign for the BBVA called “You feel sweet” with the agency DDB Buenos Aires.
As a result of all these international recognitions Felipe begins to be represented by producers around the world as for example.
Felipe has filmed for Europe in Italy, Spain, France, Portugal. In Latin America in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Mexico. In the USA in Los Angeles. In Russia for BBDO Moscow and Leo Burnet. And ASIA, in Thailand in the city of Bangkok. In addition to several advertising campaigns for the whole world.
